DAVID J. A. CLINES is professor emeritus of Biblical Studies, The University of Sheffield. His numerous publications include The Theme of the Pentateuch, What Does Eve Do to Help? and Interested Parties: The Ideology of Writers and Readers of the Old Testament. He is editor of The Dictionary of Classical Hebrew, as well as the Journal for the Study of the Old Testament Supplement Series.
